In the summer of 2012, the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) issued a press release announcing the launch of a new glass product that was supposedly the most effective and efficient glass-based replacement for windshield glass.
The product was called the Glass Lamps, and it was designed to replace the glass used in all modern cars.
In fact, the product was a massive success: by 2013, NADA estimated that more than 2.6 million American vehicles were fitted with the Glass Lights, which were sold in nearly 20,000 retail locations.
But in the process of building the product, the NADA also found itself in a tough spot.
While the Glass Lamp is a good product, it is also a product that is in direct competition with other options.
“Glass lamps are designed for automotive safety.
But it is unclear how they would fare in the field of glass in an industrial environment,” said Peter A. Brown, director of the Glass Light Program at NADA.
“The question becomes, how do you build a safe glass lamp?
What is the safety margin?
How much does glass light do to a car?
And if you are using glass light to protect a window, how can you keep that window from shattering?”
In addition to the NACA press release, Nada also released a report, which was funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), that described how the GlassLamp’s glass light can “be used to reduce the risk of glass shatter during impact and to protect occupants from glass shards during impact.”
NADA and GlassLamps have a long history.
In addition, the Glass lamp’s glass is often treated with a chemical called pyrrolizidine, which can be used in other applications, including the glass lamp industry.
And the Glass lamps were designed with a low weight, which made them more easily transportable, even for large groups of people.
But even after GlassLams sales reached record highs in 2013, the glass lamps weren’t exactly popular.
The GlassLammers were often accused of being dangerous, and a handful of GlassLambters were injured in accidents.
By 2016, the company had closed its doors, and NADA was forced to suspend its GlassLasts sales.
“NADA and the Glasslight Program have been working on a new Glass Lamp that will replace the Glass lamps in a safe and environmentally responsible manner,” said Michael J. Gorman, executive vice president and general manager of the National Glass Light Association (NGLA), a trade association for glass manufacturers.
“This new product is expected to be available to dealers this spring.”
The NADA GlassLamping Program has been working with GlassLums manufacturers, but the Glass light has not been used in many commercial applications yet.
For now, the group is focused on other things.
“We have to figure out how to scale this business,” said Brown.
“How do we make it viable for the next generation of Glass lamp?”
A future of glass and other lightweight, non-stick products While the NIAA’s Brown and Gorman are working on GlassLambs, they are also working on the GlassLight.
A GlassLuminator, a glass light that is made of an alloy of aluminum and titanium, is the focus of the NILA’s GlassLight Program.
GlassLabs are a small part of the glass-light industry, and Glasslamps are a big part of its global sales.
According to NADA, GlassLamas sold more than 20.2 million lamps in 2013.
But the NNAI’s Brown thinks that the future of Glass lamps lies in a new product called the glass lamp that is lighter than GlassLaws, but stronger than Glass Lams.
“You can build a lighter, more flexible glass lamp,” said Gorman.
“It can be more robust.
It can be less fragile.
It could be more durable.”
As the Glasslamp program continues, Brown says the Glass lumens are getting smaller and lighter.
“With GlassLands, the cost is coming down.
But you’re still using the same material that GlassLights are made of,” he said.
“They’re still going to cost a lot to manufacture.
But they’re coming down.”
In order to meet these goals, the glasses manufacturers are investing in their manufacturing processes.
“If you’re going to make a glass lamp for the consumer market, you need to have a strong manufacturing process,” said Aimee Rizzo, vice president of communications at the Glass Lighting Group, a company that sells glass lamps.
“When we get that process right, it’s a great product.”
